DR MARGARET CHUNG
BSc(Med), MBBS, FRACGP
"I completed my medical degree at the University of New South Wales in Sydney in 2007, and was awarded the Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General practitioners in early 2015. During my training, I worked in the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital, the Royal Children's Hospital and the Gold Coast Hospital.
My special interest lies in Women's health, Sexual health, Paediatrics and Mental health. I am aligned with Mater Mother's Hospital and Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital in providing GP maternity shared-care for pregnant women.
It's a wonderful experience to journey alongside women during their pregnancy and sharing their joy when they bring in their babies to see me. Being a mother of
3 children, I always love seeing kids - ranging from newborn to their older years.
I am skilled in performing procedures such as iron infusions, skin lesion excisions, insertion of Implanon, and will soon be offering the insertion of the Mirena intra-uterine device. I have also completed Mental Health Training and am keen to support those in need.
In order to provide the best medical care I can to patients, I continually up-skill myself by regularly attending medical conferences & courses. For instance, I am registered for the upcoming Family Planning Alliance Australia - National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health for Doctors in March 2017.
Patients, their family and colleagues alike describe my and an easy going, compassionate and competent doctor who's willing to listen. For me, there's nothing more rewarding than seeing the positive impact I may have in people's lives."
