As owner and principal doctor of the CBD Medical Centre and Travel Clinic, Dr Skala has been practicing in the Brisbane CBD for the last 30 years. He is an honorary life member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
He is the Co-founder of Travel Clinics Australia, now the largest provider of General Practice, Travel Medicine and Occupational Health in Australia.
Dr Skala is interested in all aspects of general practice with special interest in Travel and Sexual Health.
Dr Skalas personal interests include travel, world politics and economics. He is also a self confessed connoisseur of fine foods.
Retirement Announcement:
After 40 years of dedicated service at the CBD Medical Center, Dr. John Skala has decided to retire and begin a new chapter of his life focused on traveling and exploring new horizons. Over the decades, Dr. Skala has been a pillar of the medical community, offering compassionate care and expert medical advice to countless patients.
As Dr. Skala steps back from his role as a practicing doctor, he extends his heartfelt thanks to all his patients, colleagues, and the entire community for their unwavering trust and support throughout his career.
The medical services, including travel vaccinations, will continue to be provided by Dr. Satish Kharia and his dedicated team. Dr. Skala is confident that patients will continue to receive the high standard of care they have come to expect at the CBD Medical Center.
